Terry High School Spirit Night at Sugar Land Skeeters Game

On May 30 the Sugar Land Skeeters sponsored Terry High School Spirit Night. The varsity basketball team, under the leadership of Coach Michael Jackson, was honored for earning the state championship title, the first in Lamar CISD’s history. The Junior ROTC presented the colors, and the Rangerettes performed.

Principal Dr. Vera Wehring was surprised with the Texas Music Educators Association Distinguished Administrators Award for her commitment to preserving and supporting quality music education. She was nominated by Terry High Choral Director Rhonda Klutts.

School receptionist Becky Gomez was also recognized before the game. She retired after 30 years service at Terry’s front desk. The varsity choir was invited to sing the National Anthem, and Wehring tossed out the opening pitch to start the game.
