Fall Fun Fest

Come out to the Rosenberg Railroad Museum’s Fall Fun Fest as they await the arrival of two Santa Fe Warbonnet locomotives pulling three fully restored historical railcars! The arrival is expected at 11:30 a.m. and visitors will have a front row seat from the museum’s observation deck and the historical Tower 17. DJ Chizz will be entertaining, as well as local school students. Kids can compete in a sack race or other games and crafts throughout the day. General admission is $5 and children under age 2 are free.

Read and Roll Walk, Run, or Stroll

Lamar’s CISD’s Project L.E.A.R.N. will hold a Read and Roll Walk, Run, or Stroll. Participants will stroll through the park, visiting three activity stations where children will use their imaginations to help act out three books: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, From Head to Toe, and Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed. AIM for the CURE Melanoma Walk and Fun Run 5K

Proceeds benefits melanoma research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. All ages and teams are welcome. Pickleball Open House

Band Night

Open seating will be available on the home side only. Admission is free and concessions will be available. Band Night allows parents and patrons to enjoy the outstanding talents of some of FBISD’s finest young musicians. It also enables patrons to experience the high caliber of the District’s band program. This year, Band Night will feature Fort Bend ISD’s 11 high school band programs, in addition to three bands from the Lamar Consolidated ISD. The bands will perform their competition shows in preparation for the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Marching Contest, which will be held at Mercer Stadium on Tuesday, October 21.

District 4 Town Hall Meeting

The full-length practice-test sessions help students to gain experience and become better prepared for the actual test. The SAT test is three hours and 45 minutes long, and consists of three sections – Critical Reading, Writing, and Math. Students should bring two #2 pencils and a non-graphing calculator. The sessions are free, but seating is limited and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Calendar,” select the library, and find the program.
