Juniors of Troop 28057 Held a Pet Blessing and Food Drive

As part of their Bronze Award Community Service Work the Juniors of Troop 28057 with the generous help from the Division Director and Manager of the new PetCo in Missouri City held a pet blessing and food drive on Saturday, October 15th at New Hope Lutheran Church. The Troop raised 500lbs of pet food for Seniors of Fort Bend and their Pet Companions at this drive and will continue collecting food to reach a 1000lb goal by the end of October. (more…)

Local Scouts Receive Eagle Scout Award

Michael Sallean and Graham Preston have been awarded the Eagle Scout Award upon nomination by the Sam Houston Area Council and the Boy Scouts of America. The Eagle award is the highest achievement earned in Boy Scouting.

Girl Scout Silver Award Winners

Trudy Rogers, Victoria Pride, Julia Shepstone, Bailey Northington, and Gustaline Samba from Girl Scout Troop 28103-Rainbow Stars Service Unit recently marked a major milestone with the successful completion of their Girl Scout Silver Award—the highest achievement a Girl Scout cadette can receive.

Eagle Scout Project Benefits Austin High School

Evan Carothers, Members of Troop #38, chartered by Parkway United Methodist Church and led by Scoutmaster Jonathan Sturgis, has completed a service project for Austin High School as part of his quest to become an Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. To achieve this award, he had to plan and complete a service project for a nonprofit organization in his community.

Kempner High School Student Receives Award of Bravery

Sugar Land, Texas (September 27, 2013) – Ben Nguyen, a Kempner High School sophomore and member of Boy Scout Troop 911-Sugar Land, was honored with an Award of Bravery from the Sam Houston Area Council in recognition of his immediate response to assisting his grandmother during an emergency. Nguyen treated his grandmother for shock after she lost consciousness at a family dinner.
