The grant will help make the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) available to girls living in underserved areas of Fort Bend County, including those who attend schools located in Fort Bend and Lamar Consolidated ISDs, as part of the Council’s Girl Scouts on the Go Program. Brownie Girl Scout Troop #29170 participated in a year-long service project. Dickinson Elementary in Greatwood collects used drink pouches to be recycled. Instead of having kids throw away all those Capri-Sun, Kool Aid and other drink pouches in the trash, they put them in a specified can where every two weeks, Troop 29170 empties the can, removes the straws, squeezes out any left-over juice and wraps them in stacks to be recycled. It’s a dirty job but….it’s helping our school be green!
