Hunting for Homes - Animal Service Agencies of Fort Bend County Mega Adoption Event

The Animal Service Agencies of Fort Bend County are announcing the “Hunting for Homes” Mega Adoption Event. The purpose of the event is to not only find homes for available cats and dogs, but to also show the positive and rewarding aspects of adopting a shelter animal. This event will bring adoptable cats and dogs from the Animal Service Agencies of Sugar Land, Rosenberg, Missouri City, Stafford and Fort Bend County. Adoption for all animals is $30. This fee includes a wellness check, spaying or neutering, initial vaccinations, and microchipping. Senior citizens can adopt a pet for a discounted $15. To help make the event successful the agencies are asking for both monetary and supply donations. Supplies needed include large wire pet crates (at least 36×24 inches), flea medication (Frontline or Advantage brands), and cleaning supplies. Monetary donations can be made by sending a check to Fort Bend County Animal Services, 1210 Blume Road, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Please make checks payable to Fort Bend County, and include “Hunting for Homes” in the memo line. Monetary donations will be used to pay for the microchipping and spaying or neutering of all pets. Free Kids Art Show & Community Event

In honor of celebrating 25 years of providing excellent veterinary care, Lexington Boulevard Animal Hospital will host the first annual Kids’ Art Show and Free Community Event. The event will recognize this year’s winners of the “My Healthy Pet” art contest, where area artists ages 12 and under participated in showcasing artwork expressing how kids in Sugar Land can keep their pets healthy. In addition to the art show, attendees will enjoy an open house featuring interactive stations throughout the hospital to engage children and community members in learning about how to keep your pet happy and healthy. Free food and drink will be provided. •Learn about pet behavior and get useful training tips! •See the latest technology in radiology and surgery! •Kids can participate in teddy bear surgery; complete with surgical cap & take home teddy bear!
