Sugar Land, TX News – The Ladybugs Spread Joy to Richmond Healthcare Center

Sugar Land, TX News (July 16, 2014) – The Ladybugs helped to spread joy to patrons in hospice, retirement, and general healthcare at the Richmond Healthcare Center recently in Fort Bend. The group provided fun games and prizes, sang songs, and brought each patron fresh baked pastries and chocolates, Mardi Gras beads, magazines, toiletries, new socks, and other items to help brighten their day. The Ladybugs, a social/civic group in existence since 2007, flutters to local area facilities to offer encouragement, motivation, and lots of hugs and warm smiles. They help the patrons to participate in various activities or entertainment that they provide, and let them know that they are being thought about.

Ladybugs in attendance at this particular event at the Richmond Healthcare Center included (l to r): Dr. Eugenia Blomstrom, Milly Jones, Dee Dee Blomstrom, Velvete Rojubokan, and Ladybugs founder/coordinator, Vicki Latham.

The Ladybugs are now in the process of collecting teddy bears to hand out to handicapped patrons at local area facilities at Christmas time. In order for this to be a success like last year, the group starts their collection in the summer. If you have new or gently used teddy bears that you would like to donate, please contact the ladybugs coordinator, Ms. Latham at, for information on where to drop off your teddy bear donations.
