Public Feedback Needed on Comprehensive Plan Update
Sugar Land is seeking feedback for an update to its Comprehensive Plan, a document that charts a vision for the future and guides policy decisions affecting the city’s physical development.
The Comprehensive Plan update will focus on:
• informational updates to Chapters 1-4 based on 2010 U.S. Census data and recent development activity; and
• revisions to Chapter 5 incorporating Vision 2025 and Guiding Principles, a document adopted previously by City Council.
The Vision 2025 document contains value-based principles that highlight key areas of importance for the City’s future – safe and beautiful with great neighborhoods; inclusive and environmentally responsible community; outstanding cultural arts; educational and recreational opportunities; superior mobility; regional business center; balanced development and redevelopment; and destination activity centers.
A public hearing is scheduled before the Planning and Zoning Commission on Thursday, Feb. 23. Review the draft Comprehensive Plan document, find out more on when public hearings are scheduled and learn more about the project at www.sugarlandtx.gov/plan.
