The Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) is pleased to announce our Emcee, Auctioneer, and Live Entertainment for the 2013 “Springtime in Paris” Charity Ball and Casino, presented by Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital. Laura Reynolds will serve as the 2013 Charity Ball’s Emcee. Laura began her radio career as a disc jockey in Columbus, Nebraska on a dare from her high school teacher and found out that she loved working in radio. Along the way to Houston, Laura worked in Columbia, Missouri as a DJ where she also won several statewide awards for her commercial and public service writing as well as awards for her newscasts. Laura is the Assistant Program Director for SportsRadio 610, Talk 650 and the Texans Radio Network. You can hear her doing afternoon traffic reports for SportsRadio 610, 100.3 KILT FM and Mix 96.5. You can also hear Laura doing traffic reports prior to Texans football games on both Sports Radio 610 and KILT FM.
Judge Jim Richard will serve as Charity Ball’s 2013 Auctioneer. First elected in 1998, Judge Jim Richard presides over a court that receives between 7,000 – 12,000 cases per year. He has resolved approximately 140,000 cases and has never been reversed on appeal. He has the lowest budget for similar courts. In 1998, Judge Richard wrote a law that allows state funded women’s shelters to collect from batterers in domestic violence cases. As a former prosecutor for 10 years and having 20 years in the Army (6 years active duty), Judge Jim Richard brings a no-nonsense approach to the courtroom. He lives in Sugar Land with his wife, Laura, and 3 children.
