Terry High’s Forero Honored

Stacy Forero, a Spanish teacher at B.F. Terry High School, was honored by Stanford University in their annual “Teacher Tribute Initiative.”

Over the summer, members of Stanford’s incoming class were given the opportunity to acknowledge a former teacher or mentor who played a significant role in their intellectual, academic, social and personal development.

Forero was nominated by Terry High graduate and current Stanford student Vanessa Friedemann. In her nomination form, Friedemann wrote, “Stacy Forero has an upbeat, energetic personality that brings life to her classroom, and a rare combination of intelligence and common sense. She also possesses the uncanny ability to relate to virtually any student, regardless of his or her background. She saw me not as work but as an individual; and by taking the time to get to know me as a person, she earned my respect and my trust. I know I speak for many others when I say that I feel blessed to consider her both a teacher and a friend.”

Forero received a certificate from Stanford and was honored at the December staff meeting at Terry High.
