Ridge Point High School Girls Soccer Team advances to Area playoffs
The Girls Varsity Soccer Team at Ridge Point High School has advanced to Area competition in the UIL District 46-4A state-qualifying playoff games after defeating Houston’s Booker T. Washington team 7-0 on Friday, March 30. The Area game will be played against Brazosport High School on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm at Hopper Stadium (800 W. 2nd Street, Freeport, 77541).
The Lady Panthers ended their inaugural season of varsity play with a record of 14-5 and are the first varsity sports team from Ridge Point High School to reach the state playoff level. Led by coaches Susanna Schroeder and Michele Janke, the team is mainly comprised of freshman and sophomore players, with one junior on the squad.
In Friday’s game, Madison Grover and Nicole Dupin each scored 2 goals, and Zoey Pawlik, Sara Bartzak, and Jaylyn Sampson each scored one.
