FBC Honors 1950s Gators

11/4
Eagle Stadium
1225 Seventh St., Sugar Land
7 p.m.
At halftime of the Fort Bend Christian versus Lutheran South game at Eagle Stadium, FBC will be honoring, celebrating, and remembering the great athletic feats of Sugar Land High School in the 1950s: the Gators of Sugar Land High won a total of six District 22-B titles, and five Regional championships (the paramount achievement for a Class B program at that time) in a seven year period (1951-57). Just down Seventh Street from Fort Bend Christian sits Old Kempner Stadium, the home of many victory celebrations by the Gators. Sugar Land High was located on the site of present-day Lakeview Elementary School, and was extremely successful in athletics throughout its history, but especially during the 1950s, until being consolidated with arch-rival Missouri City High in 1959 to form Dulles High School. Several Gators are expected to attend the November 4th celebration and the Fort Bend Christian community extends an open invitation to all who were once a part of the Gator glory to join us under the lights at Eagle Stadium on November 4.
