It�s a sweet gesture, even if the name is spelled differently. Sugarland is a country trio whose members include Jennifer Nettles, Kristen Hall and Kristian Bush. Although this band is based in Atlanta, it is named after
our own Sugar LandHall�s hometown.
Their unique blue grass sound has taken them to great heights, including the top of the country charts. It seems 2005 was a big year for Sugarland the band. On February 25, the trio played on the steps of the Texas State
Capital as our honorable mayor of SugarLand, David Wallace, declared the day Sugarland Day. The band�s debut single, Baby Girl, was up for Country Radio Song of the Year, and they were also named Favorite New Artist at
the 2005 American Music Awards. Recently, Sugarland learned they were nominated for aGrammy as Best New Artist. The Grammy Awards will be televised Feb. 8 at 8:00 p.m. on CBS. Think it can�t get any sweeter?
There�s also an ice cream flavor named for them in an Atlanta shop.
Life truly is sweet for thistrio. It must be the name.
