Was adding some spark to your love life one of your New Years resolutions? We all need a little jump start to get out of the "dinner and a movie"
routine. This is Sugar Land, and the options for a night or day out on the town are limitless.
Dating in the Alley Bowling Alley, that is
Yes, you not have a great time chatting with your spouse while listening to
loud music and throwing a 12-pound ball. This nostalgic past time can bring a lot of laughs, especially if you havent bowled since your kids last bowling birthday party. And score bowling alleys also serve food
and drinks. It may not be gourmet, but it may be right up your alley. No fancy dress necessary, unless you count the rented shoes. Pool
Sharks A little friendly competition may be just what your relationship needs to bring back a little spark, Plan a date to challenge each
other in a game of pool. Billiards is a really inexpensive night out, so why not play for a prize maybe another night out? Gliding
through the Night Lace up some ice skates and watch each other try to stay up on the ice. Or, for a less chilly date, practice those moves
you mastered as a kid at the roller skating rink. Dont have any moves? Its still fun just scooting along and watching others zip by you.
Fore! A Great Date Tired of your spouse disappearing to play golf for an entire weekend? Or maybe this is an experience youve only
shared with a golf pro? Why not share the experience with your spouse? Even if you don't have golf clubs, most ranges have them available for rent. Its the perfect way to enjoy Sugar Lands mild winter.
Vintage Romance Is the wine menu at your favorite restaurant way over
your head? Sample new and exciting wines and learn a little about them at a local winery (yes, there is even one in Sugar Land) or at a wine specialty store. Sampling by the glass can help you and your date explore your
wine palate. For a less-expensive date, grab a blanket and host your own private wine sampling in your living room by picking up some recommended wines and gourmet cheeses and staying home. No babysitter needed! Just be
sure to put the kids to bed early! Unique Date Nights

Stacey Kuithe, a wife and mother from Sugar Land, is vice president of a title company in
Houston. Simple ways to Stay Connected With kids, careers and activities, it can be hard
for parents to make time for each other. Here are some tips for keeping the love alive. Establish a Date Night
Set a date night each week to go out together. Take turns planning where to go. Focus on Each
Other
Dont talk about bills, kid problems, or miniscule issues. Try to simply enjoy each others company. Express Your Love
What can you say or do right now to make your spouse feel loved and adored? Dont
be surprised when he/she reciprocates. Take Walks
Take a walk after dinner to discuss the
days events and reconnect. Shut Off the World
Turn off cell phones and Blackberries at night. Its hard to feel loved when your mate keeps checking his/her cell phone or email. Plan a Simple Surprise
Nothing big is needed. An unexpected note, flower, or card shows how much you care.
